Slope Chair for Oechsler AG is showing the potential of an innovative new way to print upholstery instead of using conventional foam. The building space of the hp 3D printers is limited to 370 x 370 x 270mm. We have turned this limitation to our advantage. #slope consists of 9 individual parts that can be easily packed and shipped in a small package. The printed parts are then connected with a self-developed connector. The Assembly is simple and self-explanatory. The seat shell / upholstery is attached to a metal frame at the four corners. An extra layer of cushions can be attached through integrated fixing points. The Lounge Chair has an extra layer of printed lattice cushions that are tucked into a shell-like textile. The cushions have an integrated self-retaining mechanism.  A small peg with a hook on the back fits through the gaps between the shell pieces.  A rubber loop attached to the textile secures the peg and stretches the textile.
